India started their South African campaign with a one-sided affair in the Test series as they were comprehensively brushed aside. However, they stormed back to thrash the Proteas in the ODI series. They replicated their form in the opening T20 encounter at the Wanderers in Johannesburg and thumped the hosts with disdain. A confident South Africa would look to salvage some pride by winning the T20I series when they take on India in the decisive third T20I at Cape Town on Saturday. South Africa defeated India comprehensively in the second T20I to level the three-match T20I series 1-1. South Africa defeated India in the second T20I comprehensively on the strength of their batting. They will come hard at India to restore pride after the 1-5 ODI series loss. But India have the momentum on their side. Our vote goes to India in the series decider.

Best economical pick – Manish Pandey’s stellar innings was one of the highlights of 2nd T20I. He sparkled with an unbeaten 79 but ended up on the losing side as South Africa leveled the T20I series 1-1. Despite the result, Pandey was pleased to have finally made an impact with only sporadic opportunities coming his way.

Top captains & vice captains – Klaasen forayed into international cricket with a swashbuckling knock in the Pink ODI at Wanderers. He carried along his confidence and form in the T20I series and has looked ominous for India. The big man can clear the ropes effortlessly and can be a threatening factor for the Men in Blue going into the deciding contest. Shikhar Dhawan initially struggled to hit his straps in the first over against Chris Morris when he played out a maiden-over. However he smacked the leather and notched 20 runs off Morris’ second over. He scorched a couple of boundaries and sixes each to inject momentum into the Indian innings.

Smart pick – JP Duminy managed to do what he claimed. He had rightly remarked that his team will take the game as a semifinal. They did see it as a knockout fixture and played to their potential. Duminy scored an unbeaten 64 off 40 deliveries with 4 fours and 3 sixes to his name. Also, he had dismissed Shikhar Dhawan earlier in the game.

Cautious Pick – David Miller’s poor form with the bat in the T20I series continued. Well, it is harsh to be quoting that given the fact that there have been just two games. But Miller has perished to a similar plot on both occasions. Much like Jo’burg, it was Hardik Pandya who accounted for his dismissal again. He could only score 5 in the game.

My XI – Heinrich Klaasen (Captain), Shikhar Dhawan (Vice-Captain), Virat Kohli, Kuldeep Yadav, Manish Pandey, JP Duminy, Junior Dala,Jasprit Bumrah, Farhaan Behardien, Hardik Pandya, Shardul Thakur
