It seems like South Africa wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen has caught the attention of everyone in the world with his batting and hitting prowess. Klaasen smashed a 30 ball 69 in the second T20I against India and led South Africa to a series equaling victory.

India batted first after JP Duminy won the toss and put up 188 runs on the board thanks to fifties from Manish Pandey (79*) and MS Dhoni (52*). South Africa were in trouble initially, but Klaasen was promoted up the order and tore into Yuzvendra Chahal, who went for 64 runs in his 4 overs. Klaasen hit 7 sixes in what was his second T20I ever. His innings, combined with a sublime fifty from captain Duminy, took South Africa to a win by 6 wickets.

Now his antics has put him in the focus of all the IPL franchises and teams like KKR, who are battling injuries to their players, might be interested in bringing him in.

However to put water on hopes of many cricket fans, the IPL rules suggest other things. As per the IPL rules, “any player who comes in as a replacement or a new recruit to an IPL team must, in the first place, have been part of the IPL auction player list

Since Klaasen was not part of the IPL players list, unfortunately, it means that he will not be seen in the IPL 2018 season despite the demands of the fans.
