Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal would like to erase 21st February out of this year's calendar. He had a ghastly day against South Africa in the 2nd T20I.
The leggie was blown away by Heinrich Klaasen's power hitting, who hit him for five sixes in the macth. The 27-year-old leg spinner conceded 64 runs (most by an Indian in T20I) in four overs.
Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly thinks it is Virat Kohli, current Indian skipper's duty to use Chahal wisely.
"Conditions made a bit tougher for Chahal. I think Virat Kohli needs to work a lot more with Chahal if he wants to play him as the lone spinner. He got clobbered in the last few games. He needs to add more variety to his bowling. A bit more flippers, a bit more sliders and not just toss it up all the time. Chahal will learn and at this level you will be under pressure at times. There will be games where you will get hit and Chahal needs to comeback. I think he is capable of doing that," Ganguly told India Today.
Ganguly said he wanted to see Kuldeep Yadav and Chahal bowl together again and joked that they seemed to be happy bowling in a pair.
"Hopefully we'll have Kuldeep back and KulCha (Kuldeep and Chahal) can bowl together. They are a bit happy together when they are bowling and Cha gets a bid sad when Kul gets divorced from him. So, may be that could be an option if Kuldeep is fit in the final game in Cape Town," he said.
India, batting first at Centurion had put up a decent total of 188/4 in their 20 overs. Manish Pandey (79*) and MS Dhoni (52*) helped the tourists to overcome early shocks. However, the score never looked safe after skipper JP Duminy and Klaasen took the charge. A 93-run stand between them for the third wicket set up South Africa's victory.
Their clean hitting was gratifying the spectators watching the game. Klaasen piled up a swift 69 off 30 deliveries, and Duminy's 64* from 40 balls helped them crossing the line with eight balls remaining.
Third T20I will be played at Newlands Stadium, Cape Town on 24th February and is expected to be a cliffhanger, with series standing at 1-1.
