South Africa lost AB de Villiers for the second time during India's ongoing tour after he was ruled out of the 3-match T20I series with a knee injury. De Villiers hurt his knee during the final ODI at Centurion and failed to recover in time for the 1st T20I at Wanderers. No replacement has been named.

Dr Mohammed Moosajee, South Africa's team manager, said, "AB de Villiers will not be able to take part in the T20 International series against India due to a left knee injury.

"He suffered a blow to the knee while batting ahead of the fifth ODI, and although he passed a fitness test on Friday, the injury worsened significantly throughout the match. The Cricket South Africa medical team has advised he is given a period of rest and rehabilitation to make a full recovery ahead of the four-match series against Australia starting next month."

South Africa has been hit by injuries and with the Australia Tests beginning in two weeks, they are not taking any chances with any of their senior players.
