There is barely any sight more beautiful in the world of cricket than watching Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma batting in full pomp together. The duo enjoy each other’s company and have a very good mutual understanding while forging a partnership.

In ODI cricket, Kohli and Rohit have been batting together since 2010 and have amassed 3518 runs at a mind-boggling average of nearly 61. They have shared as many as 13-century stands while their 4 double hundred partnerships in ODI cricket is a world record.

However, the narrative has somewhat changed lately as the duo often get involved in a mix-up which results in a disastrous run-out. Having already recorded 6 run-outs in the last few seasons, Kohli and Rohit went one step further on Tuesday (February 13) in Port Elizabeth when their 105-run stand got ruined by a run-out.

Kohli was agile on his feet as soon as Rohit tapped the ball in front of point. But a ‘yes-no’ situation between Indian captain and vice-captain saw JP Duminy take advantage of the hesitation and clattered the stumps with an underarm throw.

The Indian captain looked totally livid as he walked back towards the pavilion. Interestingly, Kohli has been dismissed 5 times out of the 7 mix-ups with his deputy in one-day internationals.

Nonetheless, Rohit went onto register his 17th ODI ton (115 off 126 balls) later in the innings as the visitors finished on 274/7 in their 50 overs in the fifth ODI against South Africa.
