South Africa and India will face off in the second of the six-match ODI series at the Supersport Park in Centurion on Sunday. Not many would’ve given India the chance of leading after the first game post their second Test loss at the same venue. But they’ve come alive magnificently making a statement by chasing down 270 runs in the opening game of the series. However, Proteas would be eyeing to make a comeback and level the series before things go out of their hand. The things have gone from bad to worse for the home side as their skipper Faf du Plessis was ruled out of the ODI and the subsequent T20I series due to the finger injury he sustained during the first game.

Best economical pick – Though Kuldeep Yadav has featured in 15 one-day Internationals, the maturity he carries helps him to go echelons up and be in the pick of bowlers for India. Yet another day, yet another cracker performance by the chinaman bowler as he bowled right lines and picked three important wickets for his side.

Top captains & vice captains – Virat Kohli is deemed to be a class apart from his contemporaries and he showed just why he is regarded as one of the modern-day greats. He scored a stupendous ton and shepherded India to the victory in the opening game of the series. He looked unflustered and notched his 33rd ODI century. He didn’t slog or play the rash shots yet he scored at nearly a run-a-ball. India have gone back toAjinkya Rahane to fill the void at the number 4 spot and he delivered immediately. Rahane also proved his captain right by scoring a fluent 79 when the team was in trouble and won the match. He played with a better strike rate than Kohli.

Smart pick – Hashim Amla has looked uncharacteristically out of touch this season. Though he has been amongst runs in the Test series as well, runs haven’t come fluently as he would’ve liked. Moreover, in the absence of Du Plessis, he needs to take over the responsibility of the batting line-up and stay in the middle as much as he can.

Cautious Pick – After not so happening Test series, Hardik Pandya didn’t start the one-day series on a high. He bowled with the new ball, but went for runs right at the start and didn’t complete his quota of 10 overs. In his 7 overs spell, the speedster was not very economical and gave runs away at almost six an over.

My XI – Virat Kohli (Captain), Ajinkya Rahane (Vice-Captain), Kedar Jadhav, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Hashim Amla, Kagiso Rabada,Chris Morris, Quinton de KockShikhar Dhawan, Aiden Markram
