Indian wicket-keeper MS Dhoni admitted that he failed to pick Indian unorthodox spinner Kuldeep Yadav's delivery during the Durban ODI. The stump mic caught Dhoni's words. Kuldeep troubled the South African batsmen in the first ODI and picked up 3 wickets and gave away just 34 runs.

In the 26th over of the match, Kuldeep bowled JP Duminy after troubling him for long. While the batsman got dismissed, Dhoni was heard saying: “Mere tarah isko bhi samajh nahi aya (Just like me, he (Duminy) could not pick that one.”

In a earlier chat with CricketNext, Kuldeep had said: “Dhoni bhai is in a class of his own. With him, you just need to do 40 per cent of the job. The rest of the 60 per cent he does it for you. He is so good that he can read the batsman’s mind even before you bowl.”

Indian team won the first ODI against South Africa by 6 wickets after Indian spinners successfully restricted the Proteas to 269/8. Indian skipper Virat Kohli played a match-winning knock and led the team to a much-needed win in the series opener.

India had lost the Test series by 2-1. However, the win in final Test had worked as a morale booster. Former captain Virender Sehwag had earlier said that first ODI will be key for Team India as it will help them building a good base for the 6-match long series.
