South African middle-order batsman Temba Bavuma, on Sunday, was ruled out of the third and the final Test against India after fracturing his right finger during a domestic one-day cup match on January 17.
He was a part of the Proteas squad for Test series, but he did not make the playing XI in the first two Tests. His finger injury now has ruled him out of the Test series.
Bavuma will remain a part of the South Africa Test squad despite the injury, while the national selectors have not opted name a replacement of Bavuma for the final Test against India.
Bavuma has played 27 Tests for South Africa, scoring 1,259 runs at 33.13. He has played just 2 ODIs scoring 161 runs at an average of 80.5.
