South Africa’s wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock usually plays conventional cricketing shots with utmost ease and finesse in all formats of the game. However, the southpaw appeared to be in a hurry during the fourth day’s play in the ongoing second Test against India at SuperSport Park Centurion.

De Kock came to the crease after the dismissal of Dean Elgar in 45.5 overs of South Africa’s second innings. While facing his second delivery, the left-hander slashed it flew past the man at second slip. He then backed it up with two more edgy boundaries as the first one flew fine off the outer edge to go between the wide slip and keeper while the second one went past the man at second slip.

Subsequently, in the fourth delivery off 48th over, De Kock’s progression of edgy stroke play stopped as he edged a rising Mohammad Shami delivery to the keeper.

Seeing such a scratchy knock (12 off 5 balls with 3 boundaries) from De Kock, Twitteratis went berserk and made fun of him. Some of them termed it as "audition for IPL auction" while others called it as "ridiculous batting".

Here are some of the hilarious tweets:
