After performing reasonably well in the limited-overs format for the last two seasons, India’s ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah was given the fruitful reward last month as the 24-year-old was named in India’s Test squad to tour South Africa for a three-match Test series.

Bumrah, who has represented India in 31 ODIs and 32 T20Is since making his debut in January 2016, is currently with his Indian team-mates in Cape Town, where Virat Kohli’s troops are slated to play their opening Test against the Proteas from January 5.

There is a lot of buzz concerning the all-important Test series among the Indian cricket fanatics as many consider the pace battery, comprising of Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya to be the most balanced that the Indian team has ever had.

Moreover, Indian batting like always seem to be in a very good shape and they are constantly honing their skills to deal with the extra bounce of Proteas wickets.

On Monday (January 1), BCCI posted a video on Twitter, where Bumrah was seen talking about his first training session with the Test squad. The caption of the video read, “From white to red: @Jaspritbumrah93's first foray with India's Test squad. What happened during India's first practice session in South Africa? Jasprit Bumrah, the latest entrant to the Test squad has all the answers.”

"This is our first practice session since we have come to South Africa. We are doing center-wicket practice where all the batsmen will play according to their batting order. You have to get the feel of the wicket, feel of the weather. It was a good training session for me as this is my first trip with the Test team. I've been with these guys in the one-day setup, but playing with them in the Test match circuit, there's a lot to learn," Bumrah said while talking about the fruitful training session.

In another video posted by BCCI on Sunday (December 31), India’s bowlers such as Avesh Khan and Ankit Rajpoot were seen bowling at rapid pace at the batters on a center-wicket at Newlands.

"Bowlers vs Batsmen. What a contest it turned out to be here this afternoon at Cape Town. @MdShami11 @Jaspritbumrah93 @hardikpandya7 Avesh Khan and Ankit Rajpoot snaring pace! What a sight! #TeamIndia," the video caption read.
