The Test series between South Africa and Australia in South Africa has not been short of controversies. From David Warner and Quinton de Kock almost coming to blows to Kagiso Rabada’s animated send-offs and verbal spats; the series has seen almost everything.
Now Australian speedster Pat Cummins found himself in hot water, after a video of him stepping on the ball with his spiked boots, was circulated on social media.
Cummins is seen stopping the ball by stepping on it with his spikes and then immediately removing his boot from it. The umpires checked the ball and asked the game to be continued, as there was no harm to the ball.
Here is the video:

"It was a mistake," said Cummins. "I looked straight back and the umpire (Richard Illingworth) started to giggle. It was very unintentional."
Cummins had halted the South African juggernaut by picking up four wickets for eight runs in a spell, ending up with 4/78.
