South Africa and Australia are engaged in the first Test of the four match series in Durban. South Africa require 417 runs to the win the Test against a raring Australian bowling attack.

On the fourth day, South Africa started their chase and immediately fell into ruins as Starc removed Dean Elgar for 9 and Hazlewood removed Hashim Amla for 8. Aiden Markram stood amidst the rubble of Proteas top order.

All the eyes were now on SA’s best bet, their best player for more than a decade, AB de Villiers. De Villiers strolled out to the middle and talked a bit with Markram.

Markram took strike to Lyon and played a ball to short fine leg. AB de Villiers took off for a run, while Markram was looking at the ball. Australia had their best fielder in David Warner stationed there and he pounced on the ball rather quickly and sent the ball flying across to Lyon at the bowler’s end.

AB de Villiers tried to make it to the crease and dived, but it was too late by then, as Lyon had demolished the stumps and AB de Villiers was run out. Commentators and spectators were in shock and Markram looked in horror, as De Villiers made his way back to the pavilion, leaving South African hopes in tatters.
