Jos Buttler (63) and Sam Curran (64) put England on the frontfoot against Sri Lanka in the second Test match in Pallekele. Earlier in the morning, England opted to bat first on a turning track but once again they had a poor start and lost 4 wickets for just 85 runs but Jos Buttler and Sam Curran rescued them and helped to post a total of 285 on the board. In reply, Sri Lanka ended on 26/1 and are still trailing by 259 runs.

1 - Sam Curran is the first ever player to reach each of his first three Test fifties with a six. He scored his first two fifties against India in Edgbaston and Southampton this year in September and third fifty against Sri Lanka in this Test.
