England have finally won a Test away from home after more than two years as they beat Sri Lanka by 211 runs in the first Test in Galle. On the first day, England opted to bat first and had lost 5 wickets for just 100 runs in the first session of the match but debutant Ben Foakes (107) and lower order batsmen helped to post a good total of 342 runs on a spin friendly track.

In reply, Sri Lanka couldn't put up a fight and were bowled out for just 203 runs and conceded a lead of 139 runs. In the second innings Keaton Jennings played an awesome knock of 146* runs and England declared on 322/6 and set a target of 462 runs for Sri Lanka. And in reply, Sri Lanka could manage only 250 runs and lost the game by 211 runs. Debutant Ben Foakes was named Man of the Match for his match winning hundred.
