Kent Vice-captain Joe Denly, has revealed on Saturday (October 20) that he has been told by the England Team Management to prepare for all positions to bat, as the right-hander is aiming to make his first international appearance since 2010 and he is ready to bat at any position fir his national side.

Denly, who has played nine one-day internationals and five T20 International games for England till now, awarded maiden Test call-up for the Sri Lanka Tests after his stunning form at the domestic circuit.

Later, the 32-year-old got another golden opportunity to play ODIs in Sri Lanka after Liam Dawson ruled out of the series with injury.

Denly told the British media, “I’ve been told to prepare for all positions, whether that be one, two or three, or the middle order. For me I’m not worried where I bat. If that chance comes along then I’ll obviously bat wherever and give it my all wherever it may be.”

Meanwhile, Denly, who started his career as a batsman but later has developed his leg-spin in recent years, picked up 23 first-class wickets and claimed 14 dismissals in 50-overs cricket this year to stake his claim for the national team.

He signed off by saying, “Regardless of where you are in your career. If you’re consistently performing and doing well for your county there’s always a chance that England selection might happen.”
