Sri Lankan middle-order batsman Kusal Perera is all set to miss the final leg of the ongoing One Day International series at home, as has been ruled out of the remainder of the three matches against England after sustaining a hamstring injury on Tuesday (October 16).

Ahead of the third ODI at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday (October 17), Sri Lanka Cricket officials have been named Sadeera Samarawickrama as a replacement for the injured Perera for the rest of the five-match ODI series against England at home.

The first ODI was washed out, while England managed to win the second match by 31-runs on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method in Dambulla, leading 1-0 in the five-match ODI series.

Meanwhile, England’s Liam Dawson, who strained his right side in the second ODI, has been also ruled out of the entire tour and returned to the home and has been replaced by Joe Denly in the squad.

On the other hand, England will certainly like to continue their winning streak in Sri Lanka, while the hosts are still searching momentum at home when they landed at Kent to play third ODI especially after rain played spoilsport by varying degrees in the first two ODIs in Dambulla.

Noteworthy, Sri Lanka and England are also scheduled to play the one-off T20 International following the ODI series as well three Tests next month here.
