Duanne Olivier has been rewarded for his magnificent home series against Pakistan with a career-best 24th position in the ICC Test Player Rankings. 

The 26-year-old returned with match figures of 8/125 as Proteas clinched victory in the third and final Test at Johannesburg by 107 runs to complete a dominating 3-0 series whitewash over the Asian giants. 

Olivier finished with 24 scalps at an astonishing average of just 14.71 to become the leading wicket-taker from either side for which he not only received the Player-of-the-series award but also a jump of 29 slots in rankings from the 53rd place before the first Test in Centurion. 

Quinton de Kock also climbed up 12 slots to 14th position after his matchwinning 129 in the second innings at Jo'burg. The wicketkeeper-batsman was later awarded Man-of-the-Match for the same. 

On the other hand, former skipper Hashim Amla (up three places to 10th) and opener Aiden Markram (up two places to eighth) also had substantial gains. 

From the tourists' camp, Babar Azam moved up five places to a career-best 20th position and Asad Shafiq climbed up one slot to 23rd place. Openers Imam-ul-Haq (up 23 places to 73rd) and Shan Masood (up two places to 63rd) also reached career-best slots. 

Mohammad Amir gained three slots to reach 31st position while fast bowler Faheem Ashraf moved up 48 slots to reach a career-best 58th  position on the back of his six wickets in the match. 

Leg-spinner Shadab Khan has also reached a career-best 78th in the rankings after gaining 23 positions for his performance. 

South Africa gained four points to reach 110 points for their home dominating and overtook New Zealand and England in the team rankings. 

The Proteas now find themselves two points ahead of the English with 110 points, six behind India at the top. Pakistan slipped behind Sri Lanka to seventh place with now just 88 points.
