Quadrangular series 2018: South Africa A beats India A convincingly by 4 wickets

India A led by Shreyas Iyer failed to make it into the finals of the series.

Khaleel Ahmed picked three wickets for India A India A was defeated by South Africa A in a sound manner in the 9th match of the Quadrangular Series 2018 at Bengaluru.

South Africa A captain Khaya Zondo won the toss and put India A into bat. Robbie Frylinck removed Suryakumar and captain Iyer for cheap, while Paterson had Easwaran clean bowled for a duck to leave India A 31/3 in 9th over.

Sanju Samson (36) and Deepak Chahar (38) added 64 runs for the 7th wicket, but wickets kept falling at the other end and India A was bowled out for 157 in 37.3 overs. Dane Paterson picked 5/19, while Frylinck and Magala picked two wickets each.

South Africa A had a better start than India A as opener PJ Malan scored 47. Khaleel Ahmed picked 3/45 and Krunal Pandya picked 2/37 and reduced SA-A to 103/4. Farhaan Behardien (18*) took the team to the finishing line with 4 wickets in hand in 37.2 overs.

India A has been knocked out of the race to finals and will play for the 3/4 spot on August 29.
