WATCH: Australia A batsman Usman Khawaja's wierd run out dismissal

Khawaja was dismissed on just 10, however, his team won the game.

Usman Khawaja | GETTY

Australia A batsman Usman Khawaja had to walk back in a game of the ongoing Quadrangular Series against South Africa A. It was an embarrassing dismissal as the batsman was caught napping on the 22-yards, not literally.

Khawaja, batting on just 10, survived a leg-before-wicket call in the fifth over of Australia A's innings, but the southpaw got himself run-out after being found outside the crease when slip fielder Sarel Erwee shattered the stumps.

It was a humiliating dismissal for a batsman who has played so much cricket and still got out in this weird fashion.

Commentators lauded Erwee for his game awareness as he showed some cheekiness to sent back a dangerous batsman.

However, the dismissal of Khawaja wasn't enough for South Africa A to get hold of the game. Australia A went on to score 322 runs in 50 overs losing five wickets. It was captain Travis Head who hit a century.

In reply, South Africa A skipper Khaya Zondo thrashed a century. But was it enough? No, they were bowled out on just 290, falling 32 runs short.

Head was given the player of the match award for his all-round performance. He went on to pick 2 wickets as well with the ball.
