Yasir Shah arrived into the Dubai Test against New Zealand with the objective of turning things around for himself and ambitioned getting 10 wickets in the match for Pakistan. But the fantastic leg-spinner wiped off that from his wishlist on Day 3 itself.

Amassing astonishing figures of 8/41, Yasir inflicted a horrible New Zealand collapse to just 90 all out in response to hosts' 418/5 declare. Before he returned and picked up two more with New Zealand following on, still 328 runs behind in the second innings.

"When I came (here) in the morning, I was thinking that I had to take 10 wickets in the match. I didn't know that I would end up taking 10 wickets in a day. Now, I will try to help the team get those eight [second-innings] wickets as quickly as we can," said Yasir, following his struggles in the Test series against Australia with a delightful performance, "Of course I had a plan for each batsman, because every batsman has got their own weakness and strengths."

"Against Australia, I was getting my rhythm back slowly because I was just coming back from injury. You need time to get your rhythm after an injury. Today, I bowled really well. I had worked hard in training. I think that's one of the reasons. I bowled well in the last Test as well," he added.

The 32-year-old also conceded that there was pressure and increased level of expectations ahead of this series and he is relieved to have responded well to the criticism.

"Sometimes you do feel the pressure here. because spinners get more wickets. So everyone expects you to take wickets. So you need to work even harder," he signed off.

New Zealand ended Day 3 at 131/2, still 197 runs behind Pakistan.
