Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed lashed out at veteran New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor for his “disgraceful” actions during the first One Day International of the three-match series on Wednesday (November 7) in Abu Dhabi.

In the ODI series opener, Taylor can be seen suggesting to the on-field umpire that Mohammad Hafeez's action was illegal on the television and Ahmed feels the Kiwi batsman’s actions were against the sportsman spirit.

Sarfraz told reporters in the post-match press conference on Wednesday (November 7), “I will say that Taylor's action was not correct. It's not his job to give (the) action which was shown on TV. It was disgraceful, for me. His job is to do batting and if he concentrates on that, it's better. I complained to umpires that his action did not come under sportsmanship.”

He signed off by saying, “Ross is a professional cricketer and he should not have done that. He did it two or three times - it's (the) umpires' job. Hafeez's action has no problem and (Taylor) was trying to create an issue without a reason.”

Noteworthy, Hafeez's action has been under the scanner for quite a few years, as he has been suspended from bowling four times due to illegal action thrice.

On the other hand, Hafeez bowled six overs, conceding 23 runs, while Taylor’s 80 runs helped New Zealand beat Pakistan by 47-run in the ODI opener at Abu Dhabi.
