Usman Khawaja has warned against complacency, and also urged Australia to make winning a habit, as the tourists are eyeing to win Wednesday's third match in Abu Dhabi to clinch the five-match One Day International (ODI) series against Pakistan.

The tourists are currently leading 2-0 in the ODI series against Pakistan, but Khawaja has insisted that Australia can't take it easy now, as they have to finish the ODI series off on winning note and therefore, he urged his teammates to be really clinical in Abu Dhabi.

Before the third ODI, Khawaja told media on Tuesday, “We'd love to go to Abu Dhabi and finish it off. We saw in India they were 2-0 up and we came back to win that series. It's never quite over. We can't take it easy now, we've got to finish it off that next game.”

He continued, “We can't get relaxed, we can't think that we've done all the hard work and that we're fine now. There's still three games left and three games is a long time in cricket. We want to be really clinical and we've got to keep doing it over and over again. Winning's a habit so hopefully, we can make it a habit.”

Meanwhile, Khawaja is not really concerned with the return of David Warner and Steve Smith over his World Cup 2019 chances as he is only focusing on Pakistan ODIs at the moment.

At the moment, the 32-year-old is in good form with the bat and seems to have established himself in Australia’s ODI set-up, but he is not ready to take his place for granted for the World Cup 2019.

The left-hander signed off by saying, “I don't … if I'm picked in the team. It's a long way away. For me, it's (about) the next three games. (Warner's return) is not something I've thought about at all. I'm just enjoying playing one-day cricket.”
