Australia, after a good fight in the first Test, couldn't save the second and final match as they suffered a huge defeat against Pakistan. A loss by 373 runs in the second Test meant that the Tim Paine led side lost the Test series by 1-0.

In the first game, it was Usman Khwaja's record stay in the middle with Paine's stable innings which kicked the defeat away from them. But in the next Test, they were nowhere in the game with both, bat and ball.

The result had left many disappointed, including Shane Warne. The former Australia spinner termed the batting display by his nation 'mediocre'.

In his tweet, Warne wrote, "Congrats to Pakistan on a terrific series win, well played - just to good. Australia’s batting was very ordinary in 3 of the 4 innings, and the amount of overs Australia could only manage to last is a real concern as well as the manor of all the dismissals too. Worrying times..."

After the game, Paine was disturbed by the loss. He said, "Disappointing to let things slip from the first session on day 1. Our bowlers toiled pretty well on that wicket. It's just our batting. Abbas tested our defense time and time again. Have to go on and improve. No sugarcoating, our batting needs to be addressed. He (Abbas) just challenges your defense. We weren't good enough to keep him out for long. We came today with high hopes."
