Mohammad Abbas put Pakistan in a commanding position on the morning session of Day 2 as Australia were reduced to 91 for 7 when lunch was taken in Abu Dhabi.

Abbas, who got rid of opener Usman Khawaja and nightwatchman Peter Siddle on the opening day, removed Shaun Marsh (3) and Travis Head (14) cheaply to dent the Aussie middle-order on Day 2.

With four wickets in the first innings of second Test, Abbas also became the joint-second-fastest to reach 50 wickets in red-ball cricket for Pakistan. He achieved this feat in his 10th Test match while the quickest to reach this milestone, Yasir Shah, had accomplished the same in his 9th Test.

Seeing his bowling prowess over the last one year, former England captain Michael Vaughan has paid an ultimate compliment to Abbas. Vaughan feels Abbas would get him every time in an over.

Hailing the Pakistani pacer, Vaughan tweeted: “Having watched Mahammad Abbas now for over a year ... I have decided he would get me out every time within about 6 balls ... The type of bowler i would poop my pants about ... Thought I would let you all know ... #PAKvAUS”.

Abbas has taken his wickets tally to 11 in the ongoing series against Australuia. The 28-year-old had claimed seven wickets in the first Test at Abu Dhabi.
