Australia’s much anticipated two-match Test series against Pakistan got underway on Sunday (October 7) with Captain Tim Paine lost the toss and Pakistan opted to bat first in Dubai.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) tour was always going to be tough for the young Australian side especially without their premier batsmen Steve Smith and David Warner and Dubai pitch made things even worse for the tourists, as it is looking like a rock-hard concrete which has no pace and spin.

With there is literally no help for the Australian bowlers and spinners from the surface, Pakistan made a brilliant start in the Test series are at 255/3 and former Australian cricketer Tom Moody was critical at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium pitch, calling it a disgrace to Test cricket.

Pakistan lost only three wickets in the 90 overs, as comeback man Mohammad Hafeez notched up his 10th century and Imam-ul-Haq's 76 gave them a strong start and are looking to post a mammoth total on the board against Australia.

It could make things even more difficult for the Kangaroos, as they have already fielded three debutants Aaron Finch, Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne for the crucial match against Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the match tuned down as boring and Moody went on his official social media handle to lash out at the curator for preparing the Dubai pitch that has nothing for the pacer and spinners.

He wrote on Twitter, “Such a shame that test cricket is subjected to pitches like this!! #PakVAus #road.”
