Bangladesh came under lots of criticism for their antics during the match against Sri Lanka in the recently concluded Nidahas trophy 2018.

The match saw undesirable behavior on part of Bangladesh captain Shakib-Al-Hasan, extra player Nurul Hasan and the entire Bangladeshi team after they defeated the hosts to qualify for the finals. The Bangladeshi team instigated Sri Lankan fans and team, by dancing in celebration.

Shakib on the other hand, had asked his batsmen to stage a walk-off as the team needed 12 runs to win off 6 balls, after the umpire didn’t signal a bouncer from Isuru Udana, as a no-ball. Bangladesh players, led by captain Shakib came out on the boundary line and started protesting the umpire's call, who initially called it a no-ball but then changed his decision.

There were bodily contacts between the players of the two sides, yelling and even a broken glass door of the Bangladesh dressing-room.

Veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh said to India Today, "I am talking about the incident, though I have been involved in many such incidents myself. This is one such an incident that once you look back, you will always fells ashamed. It was a very sad thing for cricket what has happened and the Bangladesh cricket team may have lost a few fans.

Bangladesh Cricket Board and the skipper Shakib has come out to apologize for the damage and commotion.

"Of course they should not have done what they have done. They can't break things. There were some errors in the umpiring, but that can happen during a game. You can't ask your players tom come out. And after that in celebration you can really break the window,” off-spinner Harbhajan said.

Chris Broad should have taken a serious note of what has happened and I am surprised that they got only 25 per cent of their match-fee fine. I think they should have been banned for a couple of games. The whole team should be banned," Harbhajan added.
