Dines Karthik | IANSDinesh Karthik is currently the flavor of the nation, thanks to his wonderful innings of 29* in 8 balls, which included a last ball six, when 5 runs were needed on the last ball for India to beat Bangladesh in the Nidahas trophy 2018 finals.

Karthik came in when India needed 34 runs off 12 balls and smoked 22 runs off Rubel Hossain, who bowled the 19th over of the match. Karthik hit two sixes and two fours in his over to bring the equation down.

Karthik reminded many of MS Dhoni in his prime, when he used to finish matches by hitting sixes. Many fans even compared his last ball to the one that MS Dhoni hit in the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka, to make India champions after 28 years of waiting.

After the match, Karthik credited MS Dhoni as someone from whom he learnt how to finish matches.

Karthik said, “I guess it comes from experience. That can't be bought. You learn it over the years - it's important to stay calm. Dhoni is a great example of that. You can see how calm he is, and you learn a lot of things from a lot of people, and one thing I've learned from Dhoni is how he finishes."

Dinesh Karthik was given the Man of the match for winning India the final against Bangladesh and will now be seen leading Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming IPL 2018 season.
