India will start favourite when they take on Bangladesh in the Nidahas Trophy at Colombo on Wednesday. India would look to win the clash against Bangladesh to gain a direct entry into the finals with six points rather than hope for better run-rate taking them into the knockout if all teams are tied at 4 points at the end of league stage. Bangladesh have turned a new leaf during their record chase against Sri Lanka. Bangladesh batsmen chased down 215 against Sri Lanka in the last clash. And they proved they have enough quality batsmen to take on any bowling attack in the world. India will start favourites in the clash against Bangladesh in Nidahas Trophy. Bangladesh will be a confident lot after the win over Sri Lanka in the record chase, but they are yet to win against India in T20Is.

Best economical pick – In the match against India, Liton Das had scored a timely 30 to keep his side in the competition. In the previous game, when Bangladesh registered a historic run chase riding on Rahim’s heroics, it was Liton Das who had provided a brisk start with a whirlwind 19-ball 43.

Top captains & vice captains – Suresh Raina showed a glimpse of his vintage show in the previous match though. He hit a quick 27 off just 15 deliveries. With that intent in his mind, it will not be surprising to assume that a big knock is just round the corner. Mushfiqur Rahim was the talk of the town in the match against the Sri Lankans following some impressive performances with the bat, scoring an unbeaten half-century as the Bangladeshis clawed their way back into the Nidahas Trophy. While he did show some spark the last time he played India, the fact is that he will be expected to make things happen with the bat given the fact that he is one of the senior-most players in the side.

Smart pick – Indian all-rounder Vijay Shankar has been one of the key players for the side in the series thus far. He has been a big positive for team India. After bowling a very impressive spell against Bangladesh, he backed it up with another decent show in the match against Sri Lanka.

Cautious Pick – Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has not contributed with the bat so far in T20Is and that is a cause of worry for the team management. It creates undue pressure on Dhawan and the middle-order to bail the team out every time.

My XI – Suresh Raina (Captain), Mushfiqur Rahim (Vice-Captain), Vijay Shankar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, Manish Pandey,Shikhar Dhawan, Liton Das, Shardul Thakur, Soumya Sarkar, Mahmudullah
