Bangladesh bounced back in the Nidahas Trophy 2017-18 in a style following their defeat at the hands of India in their T20 International Tri-series opener, as the Tigers thrashed the hosts Sri Lanka on 10 March by five-wicket at R Premadasa Stadium, in Colombo to keep their hopes alive in the series.

Mushfiqur Rahim's unbeaten half-century helped Bangladesh chase down the T20I in a  record chase of 215 to win the game against the home side in Colombo.

This win helped Bangladesh regain their confidence, and Mushfiqur hopes ‘the Tigers can carry on with it in their next two matches against India and Sri Lanka’ to book their place for the final of the Tri-series.

As per Cricbuzz, Mushfiqur said on Monday, “In this short format momentum is crucial. I hope we can carry on with it in our next two matches as we have got confidence back. I don't like a lot of noise [appreciation and lofty talks] after just one win.

He further added on the same, “The wicket was good to bat and someone will be able to play such a knock. When you are playing for 13 years it is natural that you will make an improvement. I just want to return what cricket has given me with my performance.”

The 30-year-old also believes that Bangladesh has to bowl well if they want to beat India in their next encounter of the Tri-series on 14 March in Colombo.

Mushfiqur signed off by saying, “We have to bowl well against India. They are a strong side but if we can bowl well we can surely count on our chances against them.”
