Broadcasters went too far during India and Sri Lanka match as they cut the host nation's national anthem short for a TV commercial. Dsport has the telecasting rights for the Nidahas tri-nation series 2018.

Everyone is familiar with the custom of both teams standing for national anthems before the game. Fans and players respect national anthem of both teams. Sri Lanka has, relatively, a longer national anthem and Dsport took this opportunity of milking money. The broadcasters started showing advertisement in the middle of Sri Lanka's national anthem. Fans were not happy with this move and they took Twitter to criticize the insult.

Here are the tweets:

It was the opening encounter of Nidahas Trophy 2018 which Sri Lanka sealed with ease. India, playing without their key players, looked good with the bat except for the last few overs where batting wasn't up to the mark. Shikhar Dhawan scored a blistering 90, missing out on his first T20I hundred. Sri Lanka looked in the chase from the beginning. They hunt down the target of 175 with 9 balls left and 5 wickets in hand, riding on Kusal Perera's 37-ball 66.
