New Zealand’s towering new all-rounder Kyle Jamieson yet again produced a match-winning performance for the Kiwis in the second and final Test at Hagley Oval to ensure the hosts complete 2-0 series win over India on Monday, March 2.

After a dream Test debut in Wellington, where he took 4-39 followed by 44 runs with four sixes, Jamieson has returned with 5/45 in 14 overs and 49 runs batting at 9 in the first inning and then bowled 8 overs for just 18 runs, as New Zealand won the second Test by 7 wickets and whitewash the world’s No.1 team in the Test series 2-0 in Christchurch on Monday.

However, the tall all-rounder could not take the field on the final and 3rd day but his show was enough to honor him the Player of the Match in Christchurch as well. Jamieson said, “It’s been a pretty surreal couple of weeks to be part of this group and to win a couple of test matches as well. Having had this little taste of it, this is where I want to be.”

He further added, "Pitch conditions obviously help and trying to find the fuller length and making decisions more often about the length and sometimes natural variations take over."

Meanwhile, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson lauded Jamieson’s all-round show against India, saying his contribution with the bat had been particularly important in the home Test series.

Williamson signed off by saying, “Jamieson’s a very exciting talent, and contributed incredibly well with both bat and ball in both games. He’s tall and gets bounce which is very helpful in these conditions. The runs he scored in the backend of both games were very valuable. Great progress for him,”
