The Kiwis thrashed India by 10 wickets in the first Test at Basin Reserve to claim a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

"They are number one in the world for a reason and that is because they can adapt to any conditions. We are definitely expecting them to adapt pretty quickly and be positive coming into this test match. Their records speak for themselves," Boult told reporters on Friday (February 28).

The left-arm pacer, who picked up five wickets in the series opener including 4 for 39 in the second innings, hoped that there is grass on the wicket for better assistance.

"From my point of view, hope there is grass on the wicket. There is always a good surface here. It also tends to turn. From my point of view, I like the cloud cover that exists here. Coming back into Test cricket is always a challenge. It is the toughest format," Boult said.

"We enjoy bowling here. We are looking to Test it around here against India. We know what we are doing and we are excited about it," he added.

Meanwhile, India skipper Kohli believes 'positive mentality' and not the 'cautious approach' will help his team pull off a series-levelling win in the second Test.

The visiting batsmen were found wanting in Wellington Test as they got bowled out for 165 and 191 across the two innings. Opener Mayank Agarwal was the only player to cross the 50-run mark in either innings.

“I don’t think a cautious approach ever pays off, especially away from home,” Kohli said. “We will definitely be much more positive."

“We will try and put their bowlers under pressure and try and make them do something different rather than them making us do something different.”
