Featuring in the three-day practice match against New Zealand XI in Hamilton, Bumrah put on an exhibition of high quality fast bowling. He used the overcast conditions to great effect and sent a warning signal for the Kiwis ahead of Test series opener in Wellington, starting February 21.

Bumrah returned with the bowling figures of 2/18 in 11 overs but it was his delivery to dismiss Finn Allen that grabbed everyone’s attention.

The delivery pitched on back of length and Allen played for the bounce, deciding to shoulder arms. However, the ball nipped back and clipped the off-bail much to the dismay of the batsman.

Here’s the video:

Bumrah’s other victim was Will Young, courtesy an angular delivery that straightened after pitching to get a nick that landed in Rishabh Pant's gloves.

Apart from Bumrah, Mohammad Shami (3/17 in 10 overs), Umesh Yadav (2/49 in 13 overs), Navdeep Saini (2/58 in 15 overs) also did a fine job with the ball as India bundled out NZ XI for 235 in the first innings.
