New Zealand proved to be too good for the touring Indian team as they handed a five-wicket loss to the Men in Blue in the third ODI and completed a 3-0 whitewash.

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson feels this ODI series win will boost their confidence immensely for the upcoming two-Test series.

It is a different format but there are some parts that I guess guys will get confidence from, going into that series. So, the focus does change and the guys are looking forward to that,” Williamson said in a press conference after the third one-dayer.

NZ v IND 2020: Laxman deems Bumrah's indifferent form a "cause of concern" for India

When asked about the recent series loss, the right-hander said, “It is always disappointing when you lose, you always want to win but there is a heap of good things throughout that T20 series. We all saw the fine margins that were there in terms of results and sometimes it does not go in your way but in terms of the progression, I think that was there.

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah who made a comeback for India on this tour didn’t seem as lethal in this series. He went wicketless in the entire ODI series. But still, Williamson termed him as a ‘world-class’ bowler.

We know that Bumrah is a world-class bowler in all formats. He obviously came back to cricket after a period of time off as well but from what I saw, he is bowling really nicely,” the 29-year-old said.

Thus, it will be interesting to see how the Blackcaps, as well as Bumrah, performs in the upcoming Tests beginning from 21 February at Wellington.
