Opting to bowl, New Zealand restricted India to 296/7 in 50 overs. While Hamish Bennett (4/64) was the stand-out bowler for Kiwis, KL Rahul was the top-scorer for visitors with 113-ball 112.

In reply, the hosts rode on Henry Nicholls’ 103-ball 88 and significant contributions from Martin Guptill (66 off 46 balls), Colin de Grandhomme (58* off 28 balls) and Tom Latham (32* off 34 balls) to cross the finishing line with 17 balls to spare.

The clean sweep over a strong Indian team is a great achievement for the Black Caps side which entered into the ODI rubber after an embarrassing 5-0 T20I series loss against the Men in Blue.

No wonder, cricket fraternity was highly impressed with New Zealand’s dominating brand of cricket throughout the ODI series.
