New Zealand beat India by 5 wickets in the third and final ODI in Mount Maunganui and also completed the whitewash of Indian team in this three match ODI series.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl first. India had a poor start and lost Mayank Agarwal and Virat Kohli cheaply and later Shaw also got run out and at 62/3 India were in big trouble. KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer rebuilt the innings and their 100 runs partnership brought India back in the game. Iyer got out for 62 runs and KL Rahul smashed his 4th ODI hundred and in 50 overs India finished on 296/7. For New Zealand, Hamish Bennett took 4 wickets.

In reply, Martin Guptill and Henry Nicholls gave a flying start and their 106 runs partnership set the tone of chase. In middle overs, New Zealand lost some quick wickets but in the end Colin de Grandhomme's 21 balls fifty took New Zealand home safely. Henry Nicholls was named Man of the Match for his 80 runs knock.
