Indian innings didn’t get off to a good start, as Mayank (1) and Kohli (9) fell early. Prithvi Shaw made 40, but the partnership that saved the innings was of Shreyas Iyer (62) and KL Rahul, who added 100 runs for the fourth wicket. Iyer fell to Neesham, but Rahul continued on to make 112 off 113 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes.

Along with Manish Pandey’s 42, Rahul took India to a defendable total of 296/7 in 50 overs. India needs to win this match to avoid its first whitewash under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.

Meanwhile, cricket fraternity was elated at KL Rahul’s brilliant century which gave India a decent total to defend. They showered him with praise on Twitter and we have some of the best tweets for you.
