Though India has lost the three-match ODI series to New Zealand after defeats in the first two matches; they have to avoid a whitewash when the two teams meet in the third match at the Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui.

Not many changes are to be expected in the top order of the Indian team as Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul are likely to retain their places at the top 5 spots in the batting order. Agarwal and Shaw are due for a big one and Agarwal’s form with the bat is becoming a worry ahead of the 2-match Test series.

Virat Kohli has made only 2 centuries in his last 21 one-day matches and is due for a big one, while Iyer and KL Rahul have shown what confidence in players can do in form of some good runs in the middle order.

Indian team management may give a chance to Rishabh Pant in place of Kedar Jadhav as the finisher, given Jadhav has not been asked to come onto bowl in either of the two matches and his batting has left many questions.

In the bowling department, Jasprit Bumrah may be rested for the third match as the series has already been decided.
