Team India on Saturday (February 8) coped a convincing 22-run defeat at the hands of New Zealand in the second ODI in Auckland.

By virtue of this loss, the Men in Blue also conceded an unassailable 2-0 lead to Kiwis in the three-match ODI series.

Chasing 274 to win, the visitors got bundled out for 251 in 48.3 overs. India’s top and middle-order failed miserably as Shreyas Iyer (52 off 57 balls) was the only notable contributor.

Although Ravindra Jadeja (55 off 73 balls) and Navdeep Saini (45 of 49 balls) played handy knocks late in the Indian innings, it was not enough to cross the finishing line.

Soon after the series-conceding loss, the name of legendary MS Dhoni started trending on Twitter.
