NZ v IND 2019: Dinesh Karthik refusal to take a single didn't impress Twitterati

Karthik failed to take India home after they needed 16 runs off the last over.

Dinesh Karthik refused to take a single in last over

India fell four runs short of a series win against New Zealand on Sunday. Chasing a big target of 213 runs, India needed 16 runs in the last over, but they could only score 12 runs.

There was a bit of drama in the final over. Dinesh Karthik and Krunal Pandya had put up a good show with the bat, but still, Karthik didn't trust his partner when 14 runs were needed in 4 balls. He refused a single which infuriated the Indian fans. Karthik and Krunal added 63 runs in 28 balls after India were struggling on 145/6 in 15.2 overs.

The 33-year-old has done it in Nidahas Trophy 2018 but he failed to repeat the heroic again. Though he hit a six on the last ball, it wasn't enough as India needed 11 off the 1 ball.

Twitter wasn't ready to leave Karthik alone. He played a good knock but did something unthinkable which irked the Twitterati.

Here is how they reacted:
