New Zealand leg-spinner Ish Sodhi has expressed his disappointment at the controversial dismissal of Daryl Mitchell off Krunal Pandya delivery during his side’s seven-wicket loss against India in the second T20 International on Friday (8th February) at Eden Park in Auckland.

The controversial incident took place in Auckland during the sixth over of the Black Caps’ innings when Mitchell had to walk back to the pavilion after being adjudged LBW off Pandya's ball.

Sodhi told the media after Auckland T20, “Shocking. We didn't really understand what was going on. Most people saw that there was a hotspot on his bat. We're pretty gutted about it. Gutted because it was just his second game, coming out and having something like that. I have never seen anything like that in international cricket before.”

Daryl, who was just playing his second international game, went on to seek the help of his captain and non-striker, Kane Williamson, before opting for a review of the umpire's on-field decision.

While the third umpire adjudged Daryl Mitchell out despite the Hotspot confirming an edge and even visibly, the ball's deviation after crossing Mitchell's bat before it crashed into his pads, Williamson was not satisfied with the decision raised his finger once again after the DRS process.

India captain Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni were even also seen discussing with the two on-field umpires, but Mitchell had to eventually walk back on 1 off just 2 balls here.

Rohit Sharma-led Team India brilliantly leveled the three-match T20I series in Auckland with the third and final T20 will be played on Sunday (10th February) in Hamilton.

The Black Caps will next face India in the final T20I on Sunday in Hamilton then will host Bangladesh in the three One Day Internationals and three Tests from 13 February.
