Pandya brothers -Hardik and Krunal on Wednesday (6th February) made it to the special list of brothers who have played international cricket for India, when the duo turned out for Men in the Blue in the first T20 International of the three-match series against New Zealand at Westpac Stadium, Wellington.

On Wednesday, the Pandya brothers achieved a rare feat, as they became the third set of brothers to play together for India at the international level, joining Amarnath and Pathan brothers in the list.

Mohinder and Surinder Amarnath played three One Day Internationals together, while Irfan and Yusuf Pathan played in 8 ODIs and as many T20Is together for India.

Meanwhile, Hardik and Krunal are currently only the second pair of siblings after Pathan brothers to achieve this feat in the shortest format of the game for the Indian cricket team.

However, the duo has been playing together for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL), but they finally realized their dream of representing their country in the same match in Wellington.

Noteworthy, the Pandya brothers were not much impressive in Wellington, as Krunal took one scalp and Hardik 2 wickets besides scoring 20 and 4 runs respectively in India’s 80-rusn defeat in the series opener against New Zealand. The second T20I will be played on 8 Feb at Eden Park, Auckland.
