NZ v IND 2019: WATCH – MS Dhoni makes a funny comment to Kuldeep on Chahal’s field setting issues

Yuzvendra Chahal picked 3/41 to help India win the match and the series against Kiwis.

MS Dhoni was at his witty best | GettyWhenever MS Dhoni is behind the stumps, the broadcasters make sure to have the stump mic volume to the maximum as they are bound to get some hilarious quips as evident by the South Africa ODI series.

Dhoni’s wit behind the stump is even quicker than his stumpings and he showcased the wit again during the fifth ODI against the Kiwis. This time leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was on his target, as he was bowling to Neesham.

Chahal adjusted his field a bit and then started his runup, but Neesham wasn’t ready to face the ball and Chahal had to walk back to his bowling mark. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav, who was on the field as a substitute and was fielding at square leg, got into a conversation with Dhoni.

Dhoni was heard comparing Chahal’s field setting specifics with the great Muttiah Muralitharan and said to Kuldeep, “Phenkne de isko. Muralitharan se zyada fark fielding mein usko farak padta hai”  which can be translated to “Let him bowl. He has more problems in setting fields than Muralitharan”.

The Indian team had defeated New Zealand in the fifth ODI at Westpac Stadium in Wellington, thanks to batting efforts of Ambati Rayudu, Hardik Pandya, Vijay Shankar, and Kedar Jadhav. Yuzvendra Chahal was also instrumental with bowling figures of 3/41 and helped India win the series 4-1.
