NZ v IND 2019: 4th ODI- Trent Boult fifer rattles India out for 92; Kiwis win by 8 wickets

Series now stands at 3-1.

Rohit Sharma might want to forget his 200th ODI as soon as possible | GettyAfter going 3-0 up in the five-match series against New Zealand, Team India was hoping for a whitewash of the hosts, when the two sides clashed in the 4th ODI at Hamilton.

However, what unfolded became a nightmare for India, as they were thrashed by 8 wickets and suffered their biggest loss by the number of balls remaining.

Rohit Sharma, in his 200th ODI, was captaining India and lost the toss and Kane Williamson asked India to bat first in conditions perfect for swinging the ball.

The decision proved correct when India was shot out for just 92 runs in 30.5 overs. Four batsmen reached double figures and highest scorer was Yuzvendra Chahal with 18 runs. Trent Boult was the wrecker in chief with figures of 5/21.

In reply, Kiwis lost Guptill for 14 and Williamson for 11, but Nicholls (30*) and Taylor (37) made sure that the team won the match in the 15th over itself. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked both the wickets to fall.

The series now stands at 3-1, with the final match to be played at Wellington.
