Team India registered an emphatic seven-wicket victory in the third ODI against New Zealand at Bay Oval to secure an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.

Indian bowlers set up the win by wrapping up the Kiwis to a modest total of 243. Mohammad Shami picked up three wickets and eventually adjudged Man-of-the-Match while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal claimed two wickets each.

Chasing the target, Rohit Sharma (62) and Virat Kohli (60) forged a 113-run partnership for the second wicket to put the visitors in total control. Later, Ambati Rayudu (40 not out) and Dinesh Karthik (38 not out) helped India cross the finishing line with 42 balls to spare.

Speaking to Star Sports after the match, Bhuvneshwar hailed Shami for his stellar effort and said that he does not feel pressure when bowling in tandem with him.

"Did not feel any pressure. I know Shami is in good form with the Test form and he is always good in overseas conditions. Bowling with Shami has been a good experience," Bhuvneshwar said in the post-match show.

Martin Guptill and Trent Boult were the victims of Bhuvneshwar in the third ODI. The right-armer also did a brilliant job in the death overs and finished his quota of 10 overs with an economy rate of 4.60.

Talking about his plans after the match, Bhuvneshwar said: "When it comes to swing, yes I am a swing bowler. But if the conditions are not swing-friendly, I try to bowl as straight as possible to make the batsman make a mistake and give me the wicket."

"We expected Munro to come really hard at us, we had our plans but unfortunately he couldn't fire much," he added.

He also highlighted the importance of learning to bowl in different conditions.

"It's very important for Indian fast bowlers to pick the length to bowl, overseas its different from India. Nowadays wickets overseas are also good for batting. The wrist spinners have done that well too," Bhuvneshwar asserted.

Speaking about his partnership with Shami, the 28-year-old said: "It is about partnership, if you bowl dot balls, the other bowler can get the wicket as well. So if the ball is not swinging, my motive is to bowl dot deliveries."

In this ODI series thus far, Bhuvneshwar has taken a total of four wickets while Shami is second on the list of highest wicket-takers with seven scalps.

The fourth and fifth ODI will be played in Hamilton and Wellington on January 31 and February 3 respectively.
