On a batting pitch, India opted to bat first and openers gave a solid start of 154 runs. Rohit Sharma scored 87 runs while Shikhar Dhawan played 66 runs knock. Virat Kohli, Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni also chipped in and all three score forties and India finished on 324/4.
In reply, New Zealand once again started off poorly and kept losing wickets regularly and bowled out for 234 runs in the 41st over. Kuldeep Yadav once again took 4 wickets haul. Rohit Sharma was named Man of the Match.
