During the first ODI between India and New Zealand in Napier, Mohammad Shami dismissed Martin Guptill in his first over of the innings and completed 100 wickets in ODI cricket.

He needed only 56 matches to achieve this milestone and also became the fastest Indian bowler to reach the milestone of 100 ODI wickets. Overall in the world, he is the joint sixth fastest to achieve this fact.
