Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur and Mohali’s IS Bindra Stadium are two of the venues that the BCCI is looking to shortlist for the upcoming white-ball series between India and New Zealand in January 2026, Cricbuzz reported.
It is worth noting here that Jaipur hasn’t staged an international fixture in the last four years, with the last game taking place here in November 2021.
Mohali hosted a T20I in January 2024 between India and Afghanistan. The Holkar Stadium in Indore also hosted a match of that series.
Apart from the aforesaid venues, Indore, Rajkot, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Trivandrum and Nagpur are also among the centres that are in reckoning for the New Zealand series, slated to feature three ODIs and five T20Is.
The white-ball series will end a packed home international calendar, which includes two Tests against the West Indies followed by a full-fledged series against South Africa. There is also an away white-ball series scheduled in between on Australian soil.
The complete itinerary for the New Zealand series will be finalised by the Apex Council of BCCI on Saturday (June 14) evening.
The meeting, due to be held at 4 PM in the online mode, will also see the BCCI finalizing guidelines for the IPL team’s winning celebrations, new-age verification procedure and domestic cricket calendar for the upcoming season.
Ahmedabad and New Delhi will be the venues for two Tests against the West Indies in October while Kolkata, Guwahati, Ranchi, Raipur, Vizag, Cuttack, Mullanpur, Dharamsala and Lucknow will host two Tests, three ODIs and four T20Is against South Africa in November.
The two home series are scheduled on either side of an eight-game white-ball away tour in Australia, comprising three ODIs and five T20Is.
The eight white-ball games against New Zealand in January will be followed by the T20 World Cup 2026, slated to be held in India and Sri Lanka in the month of February.
