Pakistan and England clashed in the second T20I of the seven-match series on Thursday (September 22) in Karachi. The hosts came into the game under a bit of pressure having lost three T20Is in a row, and responded to the challenge by levelling the series 1-1 with a 10-wicket win.

England stand-in captain Moeen Ali won the toss and surprisingly chose to bat first despite Pakistan's preference to chase and the advantage for teams batting second at the venue in T20s.

Moeen struck a 23-ball 55*, while Ben Duckett (43), Harry Brook (31), Phil Salt (30) and Alex Hales (26) also contributed to help England post a fine total of 199/5. Haris Rauf and Shahnawaz Dahani took two wickets each for Pakistan.

The target was a difficult one but captain Babar Azam, who had been short of runs, found his best form to score his second T20I hundred and remained not out on 110 and his partner Mohammad Rizwan also played brilliantly to be unbeaten on 88 as Pakistan chased down the target with 10 wickets in hand and three balls left.

For the first time in T20 cricket, an opening pair chased down the target of 200 or more by itself and the pair also broke their own record of 197 for the highest opening partnership while chasing in T20Is.

Former and current Pakistan cricketers were joined by the cricketing fraternity in hailing the duo for their achievement in a memorable win for their team.
