Former Pakistan cricketer Abdul Razzaq in his recent interaction claimed that in 1999 he was offered money by Indian bookies to fix some matches in the long run. The amount offered to the Pakistani cricketer was INR 50 crores.

Indian bookies offered me to join them for 50 crores. The offer was made in India. See, at that time, no rule was defined whether to report such offers. But yes, I warned them to not approach me again otherwise I would report them,Razzaq said on ARY News’ program ‘Bouncer’.

While one might feel enticed to take this huge amount, the former Pakistan all-rounder was clear that no one can buy him with money as he has always learned to be honest and happy with whatever he has and he earns.

I belong to a family where children are taught honesty. We have always learned to earn and eat Halal. So, nobody can buy me,” the right-hand explosive batsman added pointing out honesty was a number one priority in his household.

The 41-year-old Lahore-based cricketer has represented Pakistan in 46 Tests, where he scored 1,946 runs, which included three centuries and seven fifties, at an average of 28.61. He also took 100 wickets at an average of 36.94.

He also scored 5,080 runs in 265 ODIs at an average of 29.70, with three centuries and 23 half-centuries, and claimed 269 wickets at an average of 31.83. As for his T20 International career, he amassed 393 runs in 32 matches at an average of 20.68. He also picked up 20 wickets at an average of 19.75.
